Golf World Reacts To Significant Tiger Woods News

By September 9, 2021March 10th, 2022No Comments

Tiger Woods has been keeping things pretty close to the vest in regards to his recovery and his future in the sport. The 15-time major champion was in a serious car accident in Southern California in late February. He’s since undergone multiple surgeries and months of rehab.  900This week, the golf world was treated to some pretty significant and encouraging news on Woods’ recovery and future in the sport.

Steve Stricker, a close friend of Woods, said that the superstar golfer is doing very well. Stricker expects Woods to attempt to play professional golf again.

“I’ve talked to Tiger a lot,” Stricker told SiriusXM Radio. “He’s a part of this Ryder Cup family; he won’t be able to be a captain’s assistant this time around just because of his ongoing rehabilitation to try to get better and try to play golf again, and that is going well. He’s progressing, he’s doing well, things are moving in the right direction.”

Stricker is currently preparing for the Ryder Cup. The golf world is excited for that, but maybe even more intrigued by what Stricker said about Woods.

“The most positive news on Tiger in some time,” longtime golf writer Bob Harig tweeted.  The golf world can’t wait to see Woods back on the course.  Woods’ presence will certainly be missed at the Ryder Cup later this month.  Hopefully we’ll see Woods back on the course at some point in 2022.
